I offer a professional, friendly, safe and effective service. I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
With over 13 years experience, I now work privately, and have worked for the NHS for many years. I have an MSc in integrative psychotherapy, and Counselling and a Postgraduate Diploma Autism (Children).
I practice in Sutton Coldfield, offering short-term therapy and in some cases longer term. Working with individuals (Adults and children), couples and families.
Each client brings their own issues that are unique to them and this will determine the length of time we work together, in a safe environment in which to explore their problems.
Counselling and Psychotherapy, can help clients understand their difficulties and help them find their own way of dealing with them.
I believe the working relationship is very important, my aim is to make my client feel safe and comfortable and give the client a chance to address any concerns in their sessions.
Many clients often come to counselling after their GP has recommended that it may help to see someone, it may be for many different reasons that someone finds it necessary to see a therapist: depression, stress, anxiety, adult survivors of childhood rape and sexual abuse, Anger, feeling down and that no-one understands. Perhaps an event has happened such as a bereavement, relationship breakdown, affair or divorce that has left you feeling that you would like to talk to someone?
I can also help with parenting issues, relationships with children, Temper tantrums, difficult behaviour at home or school. Offering support when children have Autism, and helping to understand behaviour and planning new strategies for day-to-day living.
Life events such bereavement, redundancy, retirement, divorce, menopause or children leaving home can often result in feelings of sadness, regret, emptiness. When finding it difficult to cope with life changes, whatever the problem, it can be very beneficial to talk to someone with experience and an understanding, outside of your family or friends.
